The story behind our Harlequin Collection
Stylish and sophisticated our Harlequin design features hand-sketched African animals on a crackle-glazed background with a colonial-style backdrop, centred within four pastel-coloured borders.
As with all our table mats and coaster, the Harlequin range arrives beautifully boxed in our Turquoise and gold bespoke boxes. We offer two different collections: set one which comprises an Elephant centred in a blue border, Giraffe in Green, Cheetah in Yellow and Flamingo in Pink. Set 2 features a Rhino in Blue, Zebra in Green, Lion in Yellow, and Kudu in Pink.
The original idea came from Mary's Grandmothers gorgeous collection of dinner plates. She was always drawn to their beautiful pastel coloured borders and decorative motifs.
This combined with a love of Africa led to the creation of this iconic range!
There’s something seriously uplifting about laying up a table with a rainbow of delicious pastel colours – they’re like sweeties in a jar! They honestly make me smile they look so fresh and colourful. They also work seamlessly with any tablescape.
In response to the success of our original Harlequin collection, we later introduced a further set featuring a beautiful Dove Grey colour scheme, which is equally beautiful and so easy to style with different table accents.
Right now we are excited about creating an Indian Summer Collection – based along the same lines as our Harlequin range but featuring animals and birds specific to Asia.
We later also expanded the collection to include our beautiful Bone China Plates and Mugs, which quickly sold out over the years. Unfortunately stock left of these is now limited, but if you are interested in knowing what colours and pieces we do we have in stock, please do get in touch!
